Tasmanian grown fennel and ginger are freeze dried to retain the maximum possible taste and added to the amazing sea salt that is harvested and processed on the north coast of Tasmania. It’s a great all purpose seasoning and is particularly delicious on seafood dishes, potatoes and eggs.

This small-batch hand blended culinary sea salt is crafted with a lovely combination of Tasmanian sea salt with fennel bulb, fennel  pollen, roasted ground fennel seed and just a hint of ginger.

how to use

Finishing salts add a delicious burst of colour, flavour and texture to any dish – savoury or sweet – including cocktails. Just a simple sprinkle can take your culinary creation from ordinary to extraordinary. Use less salt (or no salt) in the preparation of your foods. Add a sprinkle to your finished product or plated dish. Or better yet, keep your finishing salts on the table and let everyone add their own.

best with: The aniseed pop, the zing of the ginger and the clean saltiness of the salt flakes are the perfect match for a perfectly cooked piece of fish.

also great with: No dish isn’t improved by a pinch of salt. Salt preserves and enhances the flavour of whatever you’re adding it to or sprinkling it onto. Sprinkle this salt over meat, seafood and vegetable dishes, potatoes and eggs. Try it on your pasta dishes or anything italian.

Store in a cool dry place. 

Our 100% natural salt blends don’t contain any artificial flavours or colours. Commercial salts and spices often contain flowing agents, minerals, or anti-caking agents. Our finishing salts do not. Because of this some clumping may occur over time. If it does, add some dry rice to the jar or bag. Or dry the salt, spread out, in the oven at its lowest temperature setting.
